Dear President Trump,

You have a problem.

A very big, big problem.

You may think the arrest of Nicolás Maduro and his wife is a huge victory. A historic victory. A tremendous blow against narco-terrorism and dictatorship.

You may think it is a great triumph for justice. For freedom. For law and order.

You may think you have shown the world what strong leadership looks like. Very strong leadership. The kind of leadership that gets things done.

You may think you have laid the foundation for a Venezuela without drug cartels. Without criminals. Without chaos.

You may think the road is now wide open for free elections. Real elections. And a legitimate government in Venezuela. Very soon.

You may think Venezuela can rebuild its beautiful oil industry. Attract investors. Make the country rich again. And finally let that wealth benefit the people.

You may think the millions of Venezuelan refugees are very, very grateful. Grateful that they can go home. In the near future.

You may think the entire Latin American region will benefit enormously. Because Maduro’s ties to Iran, Russia, and China are gone. Finished. Removed.

You may think you have sent a very clear message to dictators everywhere. A very strong message. That this precise, highly professional operation, with minimal casualties and maximum effectiveness, shows that the United States will no longer allow indicted criminals to hide behind sovereignty.

All of that may be true.

But you still have a big, big problem.

A serious problem, very serious.

And that problem is this: A.J. Boekestijn doesn’t agree.

So from now on, every time you think you hear a horse neighing, but you don’t see one, your life is in danger.

Watch your back, Mr. President.

Because A.J. Boekestijn is… well… not a cat you can handle without gloves.

He’s a dangerous man, very dangerous man!

All the best,

Jan D.

PS. A little present I hope you will appreciate.
